Holiday Gifts for the Traveler
As Black Friday approaches, it’s time to think about unique gifts, and for the avid traveler the USA Today published a story of the must-haves. Many of the items were tech—focused like the Kindle, netbooks and flip video cameras. I’m a huge tech fanatatic, but when traveling I find the less electronics the better…although this is usually pretty tough for me.

scenes you encounter. Despite a bad experience on United, I’m still a huge Moleskine fan and their city notebooks are especially great if you’re going to one city for a while. They include city maps of streets and metros, sheets of paper that can be detached for sharing notes, alphabetical listing of street and the usual back pocket and classic Moleskine pages for journaling. Plus, getting a city guide Moleskine, like this one of Barcelona, is a good enough excuse to visit the city!

Another useful travel item, although slightly electronic and quite ugly, is the Digital Luggage Scale from TravelSmart. A small and useful way to make sure you are under your weight limits. Avoiding the stress and charges at the airport make this $24 item worth a buy. Plus, it’s also useful if you are going fishing and want to see how big your catch was!
